Spooky Range is a free shooter with mediocre graphics yet pretty addictive gameplay. Its main theme is the Halloween and a lot of its spooky symbols. At first you will be required to shoot only at motionless carved pumpkins, but don’t get the wrong idea that things are that simple throughout the entire game. As you advance, you will need to shoot at other stuff, such as flying bats, skeletons or even hard-to-defeat bosses. You will also be able to purchase ammunition and different guns.
One of the things that I like the most about this game is the fact that it’s lightweight and resource-friendly. You will be able to run it using older computers without any problem. I also like the fact that you can run it on a large variety of screen resolutions, from 512x384 to the large 1920x1080. The fact that the control keys can be easily customized is another aspect of this game that received my appreciation.
On the other side, the graphics are mediocre at best, which is actually understandable considering the size and the price of the game. I can choose to easily overlook the poor graphics, but the fact that I couldn’t find any way to turn off the sound and the background music is much harder for me to ignore. Furthermore, there is no possibility of selecting different difficulty levels, so no matter how skilled or lame you are; you need to accomplish the same challenges in the same conditions as everybody else. The problem is that things get to be quite difficult even starting with level 2, which could make many people rage and quit the game even from its early stages. more
